As of right now, my son doesn't care about TMNT. The LEGO Ninjago theme features a lead ninja named Kai (my son's name), so they are clearly his LEGO ninjas of choice. I'm still excited about this, though - more LEGO for me. LEGO Krang!
Yes. I see the LEGO pizza, too. Go to Geekologie.com to see shots from all of the upcoming sets, to be released in 2013.
ATTACK OF THE CUTE
A friend of mine went on an Attack of the Cute posting rampage on Facebook last week, & I was made aware of this site for hours I wouldn't want back if I could have them. Can you look away? I mean, really?
Bunny!
Sloths!
Otters!
There's even a collection of photos of a real-life Bambi/Thumper friendship. Can't stand the cuteness. Check out Attack of the Cute anytime you need to warm up your cold, cold heart.
GAY MEN WILL MARRY YOUR GIRLFRIENDS
For all the asses out there still opposing gay marriage, College Humor has a message for you. A hilarious, on-point message.
This cat's name is actually Tartar Sauce, which is marvelous in itself, but it has become internet-famous as Grumpy Cat. Memes based on this cat's wonderful face are plentiful.
Read about Grumpy Cat's rise to fame, & buy Grumpy Cat merchandise (yes, really!), including Grumpy Cat Christmas cards, here.
PENTATONIX - CAROL OF THE BELLS
The Christmas season can officially begin with this gorgeous, haunting version of Carol of the Bells.
As it's Thanksgiving Monday, I thought I'd do something other than a
Confectionery post this week. Instead, I'm sharing a CanCon
playlist...that's Canadian Content, to non-Canucks. So I'm sharing some of my favourite Canadian artists - some I'm sure
you've heard of, but there are also genuine hidden treasures here.
SLOAN
One day after school, the Coax Me video came on MuchMusic
& I was hooked. 4 guys from Halifax, looking & sounding like
they had traveled to 1994 from an earlier time. I don't think I can choose just one song from any of these artists, so I'm going with 2. For Sloan, I give you the Coax Me video, & their most recent, Unkind. Sloan is currently on a Twice Removed tour, playing that iconic album front-to-back, & I CANNOT WAIT.
CITY & COLOUR
City & Colour is the stage name that Dallas Green started using when he performed his solo material, which was much more mellow than his work with Alexisonfire (also great, although screaming is not my thing):
City & Colour is the perfect music for relaxing - it's soothing & intense at the same time. Here are Save Your Scissors, from Sometimes, & a live version of Fragile Bird, which is incredible.
SARAH HARMER
I want to listen to Sarah Harmer when I'm driving, when I'm cooking, when I'm working...she's pretty great. Here are Pendulums & Silver Road from All of Our Names.
THE TRAGICALLY HIP
While I've never been a Hip superfan, you really can't get more Canadian than a band with a lead singer named Gord. They are great at what they do, & I know I'm in the minority, so I'm sharing my favourite Hip song, Bobcaygeon, & their most popular, New Orleans is Sinking. I will say that the one time I saw The Hip live, it was really impressive, hence the live version.
SARAH SLEAN
I discovered Sarah Slean with the kind of happy accident that Napster sometimes provided - My Invitation was incorrectly labelled as a Sarah Harmer song. I fell in love with Sarah's voice & waited impatiently for Night Bugs to be released & have bought every album & seen every local show since. The first song is Pilgrim, because who doesn't love a haunting song with the first line "A little blood & vomit on the car seat, & a tooth is sitting in my lap"? The second is a gorgeous piece featuring an orchestra, The Cosmic Ballet.
ROYAL WOOD
I first saw Royal Wood live, when he opened for Sarah Slean at the Danforth Music Hall. He sat down at a piano & did a jazzy version of the Oompa Loompa song & it was amazing.
The first real Royal song is Juliet - one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen, to match an equally beautiful song, from A Good Enough Day. I wish there was an official video or a good quality live version of the second song, because it is my favourite from The Waiting, Birds on a Sunday. Just gorgeous.
BARENAKED LADIES
Originally dismissed as a novelty band with their If I Had ($1,000,000) hit, BNL has always been an extremely underrated band. Ed began writing my favourite BNL song Am I The Only One? (from Maybe You Should Drive) for his future wife, but after his brother passed away in a motorcycle accident, the song was changed for him. Heart-wrenching, & I love this intimate version. The second song is their cover of Bruce Cockburn's Lovers in a Dangerous Time, with the video taking us through Scarborough in the early 90s.
MOXY FRUVOUS
Another band considered gimmicky, Moxy Fruvous was a favourite amongst my friends. Harmonies, songs about war & Canadian politics & authors. Love them. Here are Stuck in the 90s & King of Spain, both from Bargainville.
COLIN JAMES
Both his rock/pop work & his Big Band work are worth checking out., but Colin James made a name for himself with the blues. Here are 2 of my favourites, Just Came Back & Limelight.
GREAT BIG SEA
Being of Newfoundland heritage, I can't possibly compile a CanCon playlist without Great Big Sea. You would think that a band playing a mix of original & traditional Newfoundland folk songs shouldn't be so popular, but you've probably never seen them live. It is true pub music, so pour yourself a beer & sing along to Mari-Mac, & Lukey from Up...& just because, a bonus video of their kick-ass, super-speed version of R.E.M.'s It's The End of The World As We Know It (& I Feel Fine).
BLUE RODEO
So Canadian. So good. I think I would believe anything Jim Cuddy told me, he's so genuine. Here are 2 of my favourites, 5 Days in May & Bad Timing, both from the brilliant Five Days in July.
Will Twilight ever not be made fun of? Hopefully not. A few weeks ago, I shared the hilarious Bad Lip-Reading of Twilight, where we learned never to eat Edward's cake. I've just discovered Honest Trailers, so here is the Honest Trailer of Twilight, starring Vanilla & Shovel Face.
I love The Avengers Honest Trailer, as well. "Witness the excitement of Iron Man repairing a spaceship for 20 minutes."
STINGRAY PHOTOBOMB
Yes, you can see the handler behind this adorable Stingray. Does that make this photo any less awesome? No. Here's an excerpt from a letter one of the girls wrote to the Huffington Post after this photo went viral: This photo was taken five years ago in Cayman Island at Stingray
Island. We were on a cruise for spring break. The photographer
originally asked us to take a photo with the stingray in front of us,
which we did, but then afterward as a joke he put it on our backs
without us knowing! Our reactions are genuine, and the photographer
snapped the photo at the perfect time! We had no idea that the photo was
so brilliant until later when he showed us the proof. We immediately
bought it. From left to right are Sarah Bourland, Natalie Zaysoff,
Kendall Harlan.
And just because, here's one more animal photobomb, this time a sloth. *squeal*
21 YEARS
Cory McLeod's parents took a photo of his face every day, for 21 years. Watch a person grow in this fascinating time-lapse video.
WALL TENTACLES
My Sister-in-Law brought this to my attention last week, which I think was kind of cruel because why didn't she just order it for me? You can't just say "Hey Lisa, this would look cool next to your dragon head!", & leave it at that. It's only $3500! Take in its beauty:
Check out more of this artist's work at ArtAkimbo's Etsy shop (where there are also smaller versions for around $250 - I'm not suggesting everybody should pitch in, but that's kind of a great idea & I would like it in purple.).
HISTORY OF TV THEME SONGS
Jimmy Fallon recently had the cast of his new show (Guys with Kids) on, & they presented this ambitious medley of TV theme songs. Sadly missing is the Growing Pains theme song, but it is well done, & you can't help but smile.
So, show me that smile again (oooh, show me that smile).
Those were my favourite sweets of the past week. Come back next week for more goodies!
I need to have one of these in my life. The fact that I am useless with a needle & thread is not the real issue here - choosing which one I want the most is. So what if I never actually use it?
Boba Fett Fat Cat
Indiana Jones Fat Cat
Check out Fat Cat Crafts' Etsy page for more designs featuring Dr. Who, Star Trek, Super Mario, & more.
TESLA VS EDISON
General Electric recently began a marketing campaign using Thomas Edison, based on the Ryan Gosling Hey Girl meme.
Brilliant, you say. Sure, if you aren't aware of Thomas Edison's jerktastic history of stealing other people's ideas. Edison was a founder of GE, so it's obvious why they are using him in their ads, but for an internet campaign (when the internet kind of hates him), it seems ill-advised. Anywhere these memes are posted, you will find comments that amount to "Edison was a douche. Nicola Tesla FTW!"
I didn't know anything about Tesla until I saw The Prestige, which made me want to find out more (because if David Bowie plays you in a movie, you must to be a special kind of awesome).
My favourite explanation of Tesla's awesomeness is this comic from The Oatmeal. Please, please, please read it. Then read about this campaign to build the first Tesla Museum on the New York property where Tesla tried to, you know, provide free wireless energy for the entire planet. Just another day for Nicola. The project's goal was $850,000 - just enough to buy the land. To date, $1,250,925 has been raised (more is still needed to build the actual museum). I told you the internet loved Tesla, right? Donate here.
THE WIRE: RPG & LEGO VERSIONS
College Humor has created another imagined RPG, as they did with Game of Thrones & several other series. This time The Wire gets spoofed, & you can watch it here with a bowl of Honey-Nut Cheerios & whiskey...but if you haven't seen all 5 seasons of this incredible show, stay away until you have! There are as many spoilers as there are bodies in the vacants.
Also watch this LEGO version of The Wire. Shiiiiiiiiiiit, it is awesome.
CLOCKWORK - K'NEX BALL MACHINE
When I showed this to my son, he said "It's amazing how talented some people in this world are." Creator & YouTube user Austron says this project "took 8 months to build, has over 40,000 pieces, over 450 feet of
track, 21 different paths, 8 motors, 5 lifts, and a one-of-a-kind
computer-controlled crane, as well as two computer-controlled
illuminated K'nex balls."
Love it.
BUDDY GUY & JONNY LANG
This past week, my husband & I saw blues legend Buddy Guy in concert with Jonny Lang. Buddy Guy is 76 & it was a treat to see him play & interact with the crowd. Here's a video that someone uploaded from the concert - Hoochie Coochie Man, including Buddy scolding the audience at the 2:20 mark:
Jonny Lang blew us away. If you're not familiar with his later work, you probably remember the teenager with the skill & voice of a blues veteran in 1997, when Lie To Me came out. Now he's in his 30s, & the passion he sings with makes me wonder if he's this intense in his every day life. No videos from our show have been uploaded yet (although enough people were recording with their phones, so come on, people!), but here's a song he played that's been stuck in my head since:
So great. If you have a chance to see them live, GO!
Those were my favourite sweets of the past week. Come back next week for more goodies!
The Sound of the Life of the Mind, the first Ben Folds Five album in 13 years, is finally here. While Ben Folds has had a prolific solo career, there is something very special about this reunion with Darren Jessee & Robert Sledge. When I wrote about the unique way this album was made, I said "To me, Ben Folds Five has always been equal parts fun & heart...whatever this album becomes, I'm sure it will be that, however it gets in my ears." You guys, I was right.
As a VP of Promotions for this album, I received a copy a week before the official release. I've had it for a few days & have listened to it endlessly. It's beautiful, & lucky for you, the songs are streaming now.
The album opens with "Erase Me", & I LOVE IT. Haunting harmonies, that distorted bass, angry vocals, a touch of Danny Elfman, a thumping breakdown...it's without a doubt the proggiest song BF5 has ever written & I adore it. I imagine this song being sung to the Song For The Dumped girl:
I guarantee you'll be singing along. Fireworks. Erase me, so you don't have to face me. Put me in ground and mow the daisies.
Listen to "Erase Me" here.
"Michael Praytor, Five Years Later" boasts a killer bass-line, soaring falsettos & jazzy piano. Everyone has someone they keep running into over the years. Michael Praytor is that guy. Michael Praytor, so random. Who knows why some satellites come by and by, while others disappear into the sky?
Dance to "Michael Praytor, Five Years Later" here.
"Sky High" has a relaxed 80s Marc Cohen/Phil Collins/Don Henley feel. One of the 2 Reinhold Messner-like songs on this album. Lyrics by Darren Jessee. Pawn shop billboard: "We Buy Gold".
Old dreams just fade and twist; it's a heartache that never ended. The brightness of air, out walking somewhere, and when they ask you, just tell them that you knew me back when, under the blue sky.
Listen to "Sky High" here.
The title track is a pulsing epic with lyrics by Nick Hornby, left over from his collaboration with Ben Folds, Lonely Avenue. The song tells of a girl who isn't quite ready to leave school behind. Sara, well, she just can't bear the stupidity, the boredom, the grind.
She stays at school so that she can hear the sound of the life of the mind.
Listen to "The Sound of the Life of the Mind" here.
"On Being Frank"is my favourite of the album so far. A nod to Frank Sinatra, it is all sweeping strings & Burt Bacharach swagger. No stranger to eulogies-in-song, Ben Folds wrote "Late" about Elliott Smith for his second solo album, Songs For Silverman:
I can imagine Sinatra's version of "On Being Frank" in my head, & it's heartbreaking. I had it all, or should I say I saw it all?
And it's a long way from the dustbin of New Jersey to the top; Who would have known?
Listen to "On Being Frank" here. And then listen to it again, because it's stunning.
When you've finished drying your tears from "On Being Frank", thinking that Ben Folds Five has grown into such a mature band, "Draw A Crowd" begins. A fun, bouncy song with the lyrics: If you can't draw a crowd, draw dicks on a wall. It brings to mind the playfulness of an early BF5 favourite, "Underground":
I only wanted to be Stevie Wonder, but I had to settle for this vanilla thunder.
Taste the vanilla thunder & listen to "Draw A Crowd" here.
"Do It Anyway" surfaced several months ago as the first single, & it begins with frantic piano & a familiar-sounding bass-line that immediately recalls "The Last Polka", a brilliant song from their self-titled debut:
There will be times you might leap before you look. There'll be times you'll like the cover and that's precisely why you'll love the book. Do it anyway.
Listen to "Do It Anyway" here.
*Update: this AMAZING video for "Do It Anyway" has just been released. Watch your childhood become even more awesome:
From the second the drums kick in, "Hold That Thought" clips along like a train. A mellow train, similar to "Brick". I like this one more & more with each listen. The Chinese doctor took her arm, gazed at the floor & read her wrist for the secrets in her mind. 'Here's your medicine', she said, 'If you not smile at him, then someone else will'. You hold that thought, & I'll hold that thought, too.
Listen to "Hold That Thought" here.
"Away When You Were Here" is another gorgeous eulogy, this time for a less-than-ideal Father. This morning I wake to be older than you were. Fresh white snow for miles, every footstep will be mine. You'd have lost that weight, you'd have gone so straight, you'd have made my Wedding day.
Listen to "Away When You Were Here" here.
This album began with a breakup song, & it closes with one. The first was bitter & nasty, & this one is a tearjerker. "Thank You For Breaking My Heart" is most beautiful ballad Ben's written since "The Luckiest", my husband's & my wedding song:
Guess I thought it wouldn't happen, that I could care until it hurt. And the ironic timing, the clouds & their linings had opened up & poured. Thank you for breaking my heart - now I know that it's in there. What a fool to imagine that you'd feel the same, but you know better.
Weep along with "Thank You For Breaking My Heart" here.
Equal parts fun & heart, & it's cool to know that my contribution to the Ben Folds Five pledgemusic campaign helped this album become what it is. The Sound of the Life of the Mind is released on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Pre-order it here.
Last night I bought a $3 ticket to a concert in California. I attended this concert from our home office in Ontario...& not the Ontario in California. $3 for a live, online concert given by a talented artist, straight from his backyard. It would be an understatement to call this a bargain, even without factoring in the Canadian dollar's rise above parity!
Stageit is an online site that streams exclusive concerts to ticket-holders. From their website: "Where performers can broadcast LIVE and interactive experiences directly from a laptop, while offering unique fan experiences that are never archived." (Out of respect for this, any videos I'll be posting will not be from Stageit shows.) To be an audience member, you spend a minimum of $5 for notes (Stageit credit), & purchase your ticket. Most shows are under $5 or pay-what-you-can, & throughout the shows you can directly tip the performers. What a wonderful idea. I am a strong believer in supporting the arts (come see me in Fiddler on the Roof!), & Stageit makes it so simple, so grassroots, so easy to say "I appreciate your talent, & that you took time out of your life to share it with us. With me."
Glen Phillips is one of my favourite singer/songwriters & whether we're speaking of his work with Toad the Wet Sprocket, his solo work, or many of his side projects, I am a huge fan. The name of my blog comes from Glen's solo album Winter Pays For Summer, & more specifically, from the song "Duck & Cover".
I knew that Glen occasionally gave "couch concerts" on Stageit, but they have usually fallen on Sunday nights (EST), so I've never been able to catch one. This week, Glen held an "All-Toad" concert on a Tuesday, & I've never sat my kid in front of a TV so quickly. You want a Coke at 8:30pm? Will it keep you in the family room for 45 minutes? Well then, absolutely.
As I've written before, I fell in love with Toad the Wet Sprocket in high school, just missing a rare Toronto concert in the mid-90s. They broke up shortly afterwards, & my hopes of ever seeing them live were dashed. In 2011, it was a very, very happy coincidence that newly reunited Toad was playing at the House of Blues in Orlando while we would be there on vacation. It was one of the best concert experiences of my life - not only because their music brings me joy, but because I never thought I'd have the chance to attend a Toad show.
I had never been in a crowd where I didn't immediately hate everyone around me, but for Toad, everyone wanted to be there. No one was obnoxiously drunk, talking loudly or flailing rudely - everyone cared about Toad the Wet Sprocket that night. You know it's magical when the crowd is truly excited to hear a brand new song. In this video, you can see my red hair in the front centre, to the left of my tall husband. Just imagine a beaming smile on the other side of my head.
Thanks to Stageit, I kind of relived that happiness last night. I enjoyed a Sam Adams Summer Ale in Ontario while humming harmonies along with Glen Phillips - just a guy in his backyard with a guitar & a beer of his own. Beginning with "Crowing", it was like every song was chosen just for me, a feeling I'm sure every other attendee shared. "Walk On the Ocean" made me tear up a little bit, & "Windmills" had those tears pouring down my face. The deceptively simple-sounding beauty of this song just gets to me, always.
"Rings" & "Dam Would Break", 2 of my favourites from Coil, had me bouncing in my seat, & wishing I could play an instrument with such flawless ease. (If you've seen my previous attempts with instruments, you know why I'm now a singer, not an instrumentalist.)
The whole experience was much more than watching YouTube videos. Stageit has a running forum next to the streaming video for interaction with the artist & other ticket-holders. It was
clear that many of these fans were not first-timers - it seemed like a
very welcoming club. I had the screen full-sized most of the time, but Glen was reading along quite a bit, frequently losing his place in songs because of it. I don't think anyone has ever been so charming when fucking up.
Glen took requests, asked questions, & shared his frustration that he really likes a lime in his Trader Joe's Mexican beer, but you can't recycle the bottle when there's a lime in it. Adorable.
He even spoke of Bobak Ferdowski, everyone's new nerd crush, & asked everyone to make another ticket-holder (whom I believe worked at NASA as well, but wasn't feeling the same amount of love as Mohawk guy) feel just as sexy.
The result left me feeling as if I'd shared a moment with a great artist. Feeling like I was sitting cross-legged on a Santa Barbara lawn while a friend played a few feet in front of me. All from the other side of the continent, for $3. I will be back.
There are lots of other artists using Stageit - Sara Bareilles has a benefit concert coming up on Sept 10 that is pay-what-you-can - so I suggest you support some artists for the price of a latte. I'll leave you with Toad the Wet Sprocket playing Walk on The Ocean, just a few months ago.
These are the things that I think are great. So great that I want to sing about them.
MOON WINS GOLD
A Reuters photographer, Luke MacGregor, captured this beautiful image of a full moon rising behind the Olympic rings on London's Tower Bridge. Perfect.
As many joked on the night this was taken, the moon may now be sued by the IOC.
CURIOSITY ROVER LANDS
Early this morning, the Seven Minutes of Terror took place, & ended successfully. Amazing. @NASA tweeted a photo of the Curiosity Rover's shadow in the Gale Crater, which is located ON MARS in case you forgot.
Whether you're a seasoned musician or a 4 month old, you will enjoy Jordan Rudess' latest app. The keyboardist for Dream Theater has co-created several apps - MorphWiz & SampleWiz have won several awards - & now Tachyon lets you create music with your fingertips, transforming the screen into a visual representation of the sound.
It's fun, cool, pretty, & if you're a musical genius like Rudess is, you could use it with another app, DrumJam, like this:
Could be the coolest musical instrument you can buy for $1.99. Get it here.
LEGO SERENITY
It's about time for a Firefly reference, right? Here's a 7 foot LEGO model of the ship that's still flying, The Serenity. Adrian Drake spent almost 2 years building this, beginning with The Serenity's blueprints for accuracy. Yes, they're available.
Yes, I recited the lines when I saw that last photo. Why don't you watch this classic Firefly scene so you can do the same?
To see more photos of the LEGO Serenity, go here. To see photos of the construction (with Adrian's commentary), go here.
Those were my favourite internet sweets of the past week. Come back next week for more goodies!
These are the things that I think are great. So great that I want to sing about them.
PLAY ME, I'M YOURS / ANDREW MITCHELL
Recently, 41 vibrant pianos appeared all over Toronto as part of the Play Me, I'm Yours event. An art installation encouraging the participation of the community, it is a kick-off to the 3 year countdown to the 2015 Pan Am Games, to be held in Toronto. The pianos were designed by artists from each of the participating countries; they are beautiful.
Nicaragua
Costa Rica
Now, some people might simply appreciate the artistry of each design. Some may take a seat & play a little something if there's nobody around. Some might take the opportunity to share their talent & entertain. But that's not quite enough fun for my friend, Andrew. Andrew Mitchell played & sang Gavin DeGraw's "Not Over You" on 10 different pianos around the city, then edited the filmed performances together. In 2 minutes, visit Guatemala, Brazil, Suriname, Aruba, Cuba, Canada, The Bahamas, Haiti, Jamaica & Honduras, courtesy of Andrew!
I roll with talented people, what can I say?
To learn more about Play Me, I'm Yours & if it's headed to your city next, go here. To see some great photos of the pianos featured in Toronto, go here. To learn more about Andrew Mitchell, I will tell you he's awesome, & the only
thing that could have made this video MORE awesome is if he had been
wearing his rebel/Che Guevara costume from a production we were both in. I suppose Che singing "Not Over You" at the Cuban piano would have been disturbing, so...good call on the casual look, Andrew.
SCARY SMASH
Written By a Kid is a new series by Geek & Sundry that transforms a story told by a child into a short film. It's live-action, animated, stop-motion, & FUN. I love this first installment, starring Joss Whedon as the leader of the "S.Q.U.A.T. Team". I'm sure the kid was thinking of S.W.A.T., but this is MUCH funnier. Hilarious & creative & bonus Kids In The Hall cast member & love love love.
Check out other videos (costumes, casting & a "making of") here.
MR. WIZARD'S A DICK
Watch this compilation of times Mr. Wizard is snarky towards the children on his show. It is amazing.
Ashley is my favourite.
"RUSH AS FOOD" MEAL
Matt Kantor is a Rush fan who happens to be a chef. Combining the 2, he recently prepared a 9 course meal inspired by Rush. From the National Post article by Mike Doherty:
"Kantor’s amuse-bouche was something of a (dry) ice-breaker: a white blob
plucked out of a cauldron of liquid nitrogen, to be consumed whole; the
freezing substance quickly dissolving into a film of lime-flavoured
meringue. The dish was named after the song Limelight, not only
because of its ingredients, but also because eating it was a
performance — everyone was eager to see the smoke coming out of their
fellow diners’ noses."
"The song Red Barchetta, about a joyride in the future when cars
have been outlawed, became a deconstructed red bruschetta where a
tomato, shiny like a polished racecar, seemed to have burned black-olive
rubber through a “dirt road” of breadcrumbs."
To read more details of this very creative meal, like the complex "La Villa Strangiato" dish, read the full article here.
THE MINI-GOLF OPEN
Improv Everywhere is a comedy troupe that began with a Ben Folds Fake prank that I had read about several years ago. They haven't stopped creating scenes since then - their website boasts of over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of people in on the joke, or "undercover agents". Their latest scene transformed a family miniature golf outing into a major sports event - complete with fake ESPN coverage, caddies, a gallery, & the actual Claret Cup, just hoisted by the winner of this weekend's British Open, Ernie Els. The commentary is hilarious: "Max, of course, sponsored by Star Wars", & I love that the champion is greeted by a fake family. Well done.
Watch more scenes created by Improv Everywhere here.
LABYRINTH ONESIE
I saw this shirt at thinkgeek about 9 months ago & immediately had to order it for my niece, who was yet to be born. Labyrinth was on a steady rotation when my brother & I were young, so his baby had to have this.
What power?
You're reading this blog, so I assume you get the reference, but I see no need to NOT post this awesome clip full of awesomeness so you can have yourself a dance party.
Clearly, I am the nerdiest of Lily's 2 Aunts, as her Aunt Lindsay writes a wonderful blog about normal adult things like home renovating. The onesie is also available as a women's shirt, & you can buy them both here. Look how cute it looks on Lily!
She's working on her Goblin King hair.
So far, I've resisted the urge to toss her 20 feet into the air & wait for a Muppet to catch her. So far.
Those were my favourite internet sweets of the past week. Come back next week for more goodies!
